Windows 8 and Google Chrome: Missing Taskbar

if you are one who is struggling with Windows 8’s new interface and have chosen Google Chrome as your browser you might experience the following…

Occasionally Chrome will unexpectedly switch to full screen mode rendering your taskbar unavailable.  I’ve come across numerous forums where many are mistaking this issue as either full screen mode or a taskbar setting issue. This may be true of Windows XP or 7, however in Windows 8, Chrome now has the the ability to run in Windows 8 (app mode which is akin to full screen) or Desktop mode.   Therefore if you ever find yourself without a taskbar, simply select Settings and switch Chrome to Desktop mode.
